Suggested Uses: Tall, multi-stem woody perennial that is typically found near wetlands and lakes. Forms large colonies.
Native Range: Wet areas throughout the the Great Plains, the Mississippi River Valley and parts of the Northeast.
Pollinators/Habitat: Salix spp. are favored by the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee (Bombus affinis). Provides shelter for birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and more.
Flowers: Catkins.
Leaves: Linear, long.
