Native Range: Native throughout much of the U.S. except for the Great Plains. Native to the woodlands of Minnesota.

Wildlife Value: Provides shelter for small organisms.

Leaves: Cut twice. Leaves grow from the top of a vertical stem, usually starting 1ft above the ground.  Leaves may be parallel to the ground.
