Suggested Uses: Christmas fern is an evergreen fern that is an excellent choice for erosion control on medium to dry slopes. Works well in mass plantings in moist woodlands. Grows well under evergreens.
Native Range: Native to the eastern half of the contiguous U.S. Native to the far southeastern corner of Minnesota but is hardy in zones 3-8.
Wildlife Value: Provides cover for ground-dwelling organisms. Wildlife enjoy edible young fronds.
Leaves: Evergreen, tough, cut once.
