Native Range: Native to the Great Plains, the Midwest and parts of the Northeast. Native throughout Minnesota except for the Northeast corner.

Pollinators: Bees and butterflies. This plant is an important nectar source for monarch butterflies.

Flowers: Inconspicuous. Seeds are white and pearly.

Leaves: Soft hairs make the leaves a silvery green.
