Suggested Uses: Spring Beauty grows well in rich, moist woodlands and woodland gardens. It is a delicate spring ephemeral with slender basal leaves and beautiful five-petaled flowers.
Native Range: Native to the eastern half of the U.S., including the eastern half of Minnesota.
Pollinators: Well-visited by many types of bees.
Flowers: 1/2″ diameter flowers have 5 petals each and 5 stamens with bright pink anthers. Each plant generally has several flowers.
Leaves: Spring Beauties generally only have a single pair of opposite leaves half way up the stem. These leaves are very narrow with a prominent central vein and are up to 6″ long. Plants may have basal leaves.
