Flowers: The flowers appear in flat clusters about 2" wide.
Leaves: The leaves are divided with 3-7 pointed, toothed leaflets about 1"-2" long.

Suggested Uses:

This is a great plant for attracting beneficial insects to the home garden. It is a host plant for the Black Swallowtail butterfly! It is a very useful plant for a shoreline restoration or rain garden project!

Interesting Facts

Medicinal Uses: Once used to treat wounds, syphilis, headache and fevers.
Name: Zizia is in honor of German botanist Johann Baptist Ziz. Alexanders refers to a similar European plant.
