Flowers: The flowers appear in flat clusters about 2" wide.
Leaves: The basal leaves are simple and heart-shaped, while the upper leaves are divided with 3-7 pointed, toothed leaflets, about 1-2" long.

Suggested Uses:

This is an excellent choice for upland shoreline restoration. Very similar to Z aurea, but has bold heart -shaped leaves at the base of the plant. This wildflower is a host plant for the Black Swallowtail Butterfly!

Interesting Facts

Name: Zizia is in honor of German botanist Johann Baptist Ziz. Alexanders refers to a similar European plant.
