Flowers: The 3/4" flower heads contain 8-12 ray flowers surrounding thee yellow disk flowers. They bloom on flat-topped clusters.
Leaves: The stem leaves are irregularly toothed and the basal leaves are stalked.

 

Suggested Uses:

This cheery wildflower is low growing and  very showy when in bloom!  It grows on a variety of soil types, but is very useful in a dry sandy, gravelly or rocky soil. This would be a nice choice for a rock garden and is an excellent choice for upland  prairie or shoreline restoration.
