Flowers: The single 1 1/2" flower grows on a narrow smooth stalk. It has 8-10 petals with every other one narrower than the one next to it. It has 2 sepals and numerous golden stamens.
Leaves: The single leaf grows on a separate stalk next to the flower. It is 4"-7" and scalloped into 5-9 lobes. It curls around the flower in chilly weather and at night.

Suggested Uses:

This is a very beautiful spring wildflower and like a tulip comes up, flowers and then eventually fades back to the ground. It is a very nice wildflower to plant in mass for the woodland garden or  landscape! The bold and interesting foliage stays nice for quite a long time in the spring and the flowers are spectacular!
