Leaves: The rough toothless leaves grow from a sticky or hoary stem.

 

Suggested Uses:

These upland plants are particularly good on rocky, sandy or gravelly soils and will work well in a rock garden setting. The lavender to violet, daisy-like flowers are especially good at attracting pollinating insects. This plant is a food source for both the larval stage and the adult stage of the many kinds of butterflies.  Excellent source of nectar!
