Suggested Uses:

This shrub is excellent for shoreline restoration and large raingardens. The folliage turns a golden yellow in the fall.

 

Interesting Facts

Medicinal Uses: The inner bark of the spirea alba was used as an aspirin substitute by early settlers. Ojibwa women drank a tea of leaves and flowers to ease childbirth.
Food Uses: Early settlers ate the roots of the Meadowsweet.
