Flowers: The 2-3 inch flower heads are made up of 20-30 petal like ray flowers and yellow disk flowers. There is only one flower head per stem.
Leaves: The lance shaped leaves are 1"-3" long and coarsely toothed. The leaves almost appear to clasp the stem.

 

Suggested Uses:

This plant reseeds heavily and can become unruly in small gardens. It  has very showy yellow golden flowers and is useful for attracting birds and butterflies. Plant in larger area. Makes very nice cut flowers!

Name: Heliopsis literally means sun "helios" appearance "opsis" in Greek.
