Flowers: The 1" pea-like flowers bloom in stiff, upright clusters up to 12" long.
Leaves: The leaves are divided like the palm of a hand into 3 oblong segments, each 1"-2 1/2" long.

 

Suggested Uses:

One of our most highly demanded plants, this beauty has lovely white flowers and a grand umbrella shaped stature! This plant will do well on sandier soils.

 

Interesting Facts:

Medicinal Uses: Used to treat colds, scarlet fever, typhus, eczema, and dysentery. It was combined with senega snakeroot to treat snakebites. It was considered a stimulant and a treatment for cuts.
Food Uses:
Other Uses: Sometimes used as a dye.
More Information: Poisonous to grazing animals.
Name: The Greek word baptizein means "to dye".
