Flowers: The flowers are 1"-2" wide with 5 petals and 5 styles in branched terminal clusters.
Leaves: The opposite leaves are elliptical. They are 1"-2" long.

 

Suggested Uses:

These tall flowers attract butterflies and also have nice straight stems for cut flower purposes. This is one of the showiest of all hypericums! The flowers give way to some interesting upright seed capsules and is an interesting addition to any dried flower bouquet!

 

Interesting Facts:

Medicinal Uses: While used currently as a cure for the blues, it was used in Europe to treat poor eyesight, respiratory ailments, insomnia, bed-wetting, sleepwalking, and hysteria. It was also thought keep witches, evil spirits, and thunder away. The oil from the red juice has been used to treat cuts and bruises.
